Attractive three lobed leaves emerge green in spring and are supplemented by very small, red flowers. In autumn, the leaves turn bright shades of orange and red.
Growing to 8 x 4 metres in 20 years, Acer rubrum Red Sunset is ideal for medium to large gardens. It is a hardy tree although prefers a sheltered position in full sun to partial shade. Acer rubrum 'Franksred' holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit so is sure to be an excellent choice.
