Camellia reticulata 'Mary Williams' Shrub
A slightly larger variety than Camellia japonica, Camellia reticulata 'Mary Williams' is a compact, upright evergreen shrub producing showy, reddish pink flowers from late winter to early spring. Bright, lemon-yellow stamens are surrounded by large petals that are less ruffled than many other varieties of camellia. Glossy evergreen foliage gives Camellia 'Mary Williams' year-round interest—ideal for screening purposes or for adding permanent structure to the garden.
Plant Camellia reticulata 'Mary Williams' in a partially shaded or fully shaded position within the garden, in a moist, well-draining soil (acidic is recommended). A garden border would be ideal, but we think it looks lovely planted into a large container. Perfect for a shady patio! Approximate height and spread of 3 x 2 metres in 20 years.
